Tourists in general (sightseeing, pleasure trip, etc.) - participants in sport competitions or artistic contests, conferences or seminars, whenever they are not being paid for such activities.
Exchange students - scientists, professors or researchers, participating in scientific or technological studies, associated with Brazilian institutions - students for practical course as part of professional or university studies - trainees in the operation or maintenance of equipments or machines made in Brazil - technicians, volunteers, specialists, scientists, researchers who will work for government, private or non-governmental institutions, under an international cooperation agreement - amateur athletes under 21 years of age, for intensive practice - whose who are traveling for medical treatment.
Travelers in business trips, except in case of technical assistance; media coverage or filming; flight/ship crewmembers not holding an international crew card.
Business travelers if trip involves technical assistance such as, technical jobs and/or training performed at an affiliate company in Brazil, franchise operation activities, evaluation and/or repair of equipment installed in Brazil or sold to a Brazilian client - language teachers, including trainees - volunteers and social workers -cientists, professors, teachers, technicians, or any other traveler holding an employment contract with a Brazilian organization - ship crewmembers working on fishing foreign vessels rented by Brazilian companies.
Scientists, professors or researchers; director or administrator of a social assistance and/or religious institution; investor or person under a work contract with a company in Brazil for a long-term activity - retired person, over fifty - person married to a Brazilian citizen - immediate family member of a Brazilian citizen or a permanent resident in Brazil.
