JOURNALISTS, TV AND FILMING CREWS

VITEM II visas are issued to foreigners travelling to Brazil as journalists, TV and filming crews in short-term assignments. This visa is required to facilitate the temporary import of professional equipment into Brazil.

 

This kind of visa is not applicable to press correspondents, who must apply for a VITEM VI visa.

PROFESSIONAL FILMING IN BRAZIL

It needs prior authorization of ANCINE (Agência Nacional do Cinema - Brazilian Government Agency responsible for the regulation of the audiovisual in the country) is required for filming in Brazil. Foreigners who will  carry out audiovisual work in Brazil, such as  filming a documentary, an advertisement,  making a film, recording images, newscast, need to make a partnership with a Brazilian producing company registered at ANCINE .

DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS

A – Passport valid for at least for 6 (six) months

B – One passport-size photograph, front view, white background

C – One application form completed and signed by the applicant.

D – A letter from the applicant’s employer stating the reason and duration of the trip to Brazil.

E – Authorization from Agência Nacional do Cinema (ANCINE). See below contact information.

PLEASE NOTE THAT:

Visas are valid for arrival in Brazil within 90 days after they were issued.

  

IMPORTANT: do not commit yourself to travel plans until you know when your visa will be issued.

 

CONSULAR FEES:

NOK 480 

It is free for nationals from Germany, Belgium, Italy, Norway and Sweden, for stays up to 90 days.

USA citizens are subject to an additional processing fee of NOK 1040, on a reciprocity basis.

British citizens are subjected to a NOK 1240 processing fee for all visas which validity extends the period of 180 days, on a reciprocity basis.

 

All applications not submitted by the passport holder in person are subject to a handling fee of NOK 80 in addition to any other applicable fee.

 

 

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT

All fees must be paid by bank transfer (account number 70320519126, DnB NOR Bank) or with debit card, if in person. Bank transfers from abroad: IBAN NO70 7032 0519 126, SWIFT: DNBANOKKXXX.

Please make sure that all taxes are included, so that the amount credited to our account corresponds exactly to the consular fee.

NOTE: The name of petitioner and the nature of the services to be rendered shall be specified in the payment sheet.

 

POST

For applications sent by post, please attach the consular fee payment receipt and a self-addressed pre-paid envelope (registered letters).

The Embassy cannot be held responsible for lost or delayed mail.

 

PROCESSING TIME

Upon arrival of complete documentation at the Embassy, please allow a minimum of ten (10) working days for the issuance of the visa.
