This kind of visa is issued to foreign citizens travelling to Brazil to undertake university studies in a Brazilian institution recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Education.

DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS

A – Passport valid for a minimum of six months or the duration of the visa, whichever is longer.

B – Application form (2 copies) duly completed and signed.

C – Two recent 3 x 4 photographs.

D – Letter duly authenticated by the Notary Public (Cartório) in Brazil from the Brazilian educational institution in Brazil stating that the student is enrolled in a determined course and its duration.  

E – Copy of certificate of residence in the Norway or any other document stating the students name and address in Norway.

F – Proof of availability of sufficient funds for self-maintenance for the duration of stay in Brazil or scholarship.

G – Certificate of good behaviour (international model) issued by the Norwegian/Icelandic Police  and of the country of origin, in the case of being a national of a third country (issued not more than 90 days prior to delivery to this Embassy). Legalization fee: NOK 160.

PLEASE NOTE THAT

Applications for Temporary Visa IV can only be submitted in the consular district in which the applicant has lived for the last twelve months.

Visas are valid for arrival in Brazil within 90 days from the date of issuance.

Maximum duration of the VITEM-IV visa is one year. Extensions can be applied for at the Department of Federal Police, in Brazil, at least 30 days before the visa expires.

Applications for extensions must be accompanied by a school report from the Brazilian educational institution in which the applicant has been enrolled in addition to proof of enrolment for the following school term. Applications for Temporary Visa IV can only be submitted in the consular district in which the applicant has lived for the last twelve months.

CONSULAR FEES
A charge of  NOK 320 is applicable per student visa.

Legalization fee: NOK 160.

For stays up to 90 days, free of charge for all kind of visas for nationals of Norway. 

USA citizens are subject to an additional fee of NOK 1040 (based on a reciprocity).

British citizens are subjected to a NOK 1240 processing fee for all visas which validity extends the period of 180 days (based on a reciprocity).

All applications not submitted by the passport holder in person are subject to a handling fee of NOK 80 in addition to any other applicable fee.

METHOD OF PAYMENT

 All fees must be paid by bank transfer (account number 70320519126, DnB NOR Bank) or with debit card, if in person.

Please make sure that all taxes are included, so that the amount credited to our account corresponds exactly to the consular fee.
NOTE: The name of petitioner and the nature of the services to be rendered shall be specified in the payment sheet.

POST 
For applications sent by post, please attach the consular fee payment receipt (visa fee plus handling fee) and a self-addressed pre-paid envelope (registered letters).
The Embassy cannot be held responsible for lost or delayed mail.

PROCESSING TIME
Upon arrival of complete documentation at the Embassy, please allow a minimum of ten (10) working days for the issuance of the visa.
