Clergy and Missionaries

Clergy visas are issued to foreign citizens travelling to Brazil as clergy or members of a religious order or congregation, assigned to an institution established in Brazil, as well as to their dependants.
DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS:
From the religious institution:
- Authenticated photocopy of incorporation and statutes of the religious order or entity in Brazil (ata de constituição).
- Proof that the head of the religious order has legal authority to act on behalf of the order (comprovante de poderes de representação legal de seu dirigente).
-Notarized declaration of commitment assuming full financial responsibility for the applicant and dependants, including exit from the country (compromisso da entidade no Brasil de manutenção e saída do território nacional do religioso chamado).
From the applicant:
A – Passport valid for a minimum of six months.
B – Application form duly completed and signed.
C – One recent photograph, front view, white background.
D – Certificate of good behaviour (international model) issued by the Norwegian/Icelandic Police (issued not more than 90 days prior to delivery to this Embassy).
E - Certificate of residence (“Bostedsattest”).
F - Curriculum vitae.
G - Declaration of ordainment (or a document to that effect) or academic records which prove religious education or status.
H - If it is the case, signed declaration (signature recognized by a norwegian notary public) from the applicant stating that he/she will only perform activities in native indian territory if authorized by the Brazilian National Indian Foundation (FUNAI).
PLEASE NOTE THAT:
Maximum duration of the “VITEM-VII” is one year.
DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS TO RETRIEVE THE VISA FOR THE SPOUSE AND MINOR CHILDREN:
D. Certificate of good behaviour (international model) issued by the Norwegian/Icelandic Police (issued not more than 90 days prior to delivery to this Embassy).
E. Original Marriage and Birth certificates (“internasjonal modell”), which will be legalized by this Embassy. Please note that certificates issued in other countries than Norway and Iceland must be legalized by the Brazilian Diplomatic Representation in the country where they were issued. Legalization fee: 160 per document.
Legalization fee: NOK 160 per document
USA citizens are subject to an additional processing fee of NOK 1040, on a reciprocity basis.
British citizens are subjected to a NOK 1.240 processing fee for all visas which validity extends the period of 180 days, on a reciprocity basis.
